UKBC COMMITTEE

The UKBC Committee: We are a group of Boerboel enthusiasts, some breeders and some owners, who collectively have more than 70 years of experience with the Boerboel breed.

Chairman

Dolph Carstens

Originally from from Bloemfontein, South Africa, Dolph has known and loved Boerboels all his life.  He is the European Board Member and Senior Appraiser for the SABBS (South African Boerboel Breeders Society), the largest worldwide Boerboel registry.

Treasurer

Tracy Lilburn

Tracy is a well-respected Senior Appraiser for SABBS and has travelled extensively throughout Europe and South Africa appraising and judging dogs.  She was ‘bitten’ by the Boerboel bug in 2002 when she bought her first Boerboel pup.  She has been the treasurer since 2005.

Lynn Scott

Lynn got her first Boerboel whilst living with her husband John in South Africa.  On returning to the UK she was surprised to find Boerboels had made it over here and got her male, Oscar, in 2004, followed by Lexi in 2009.  Lynn joined the committee in 2005 and looks after the club admin.

Jan Mitchell

Jan got her first Boerboel in 2003, a yellow male named Yogi.  Since then she has collected quite a few Boerboels, all of them house dogs.  She has owned guardian breed dogs for over 30 years and used to breed Dobermanns.  She loves training her dogs all – of whom have various CGC’s.  She is currently busy with Working Trials, Gun dog and Rally.

Lynn Williamson

Lynn has been involved with Boerboels for many years.  She has bred a couple of litters and at most has kept six adult Boerboels together – two females and four males, all of which have run together as a pack.  Lynn joined the committee in 2012 and lives with her family in Scotland.

Michel Thompson

Michel is relatively new to the breed, becoming the owner of a Claymore Boerboels puppy in 2011, and quickly becoming hooked on the breed!  She and Dave now have five Boerboels, with more planned.  She is very interested in dog training and helping people who have problems with their dogs, and is also very actively involved with the rehoming of Boerboels.  Michel joined the committee in 2016.

Barry Bristol

Barry bought his first Boerboel in 2013, and now has four!  He joined the committee in 2016 and does a great job organising our Facebook page – which is almost a fulltime job!

Elaine Carstens

Elaine has had Boerboels in her home since 1997 in South Africa.  She is a founder member of the UKBC having joined the committee in 2003 after returning to the UK.
